Place the extern fire spread family on the bottom of the facade where the enclosing area should be calculated.
The arrow in the family shows the direction of the outer side of the wall. The dashed lines symbolize the distance boundary around enclosing the unprotected area.
The component is a Communication Device if the symbol isn’t visible in the floor plan.
Stretch the dashed lines around the enclosing unprotected area.
Calculate the total unprotected area (window opening) in the façade. Enter the information in the instance parameter
When the data is entered, the unprotected percentage is automatically calculated in the floor plan.
The Enclosing Height / Width will increase with a factor of 3m.
Change the distance to another building. Depending on the distance, the max unprotected area is changed automatically for both Residential(a) and commercial requirements(b).
The Factor ‘f’ follows a quadric fit value of the graph
If the user like, it’s possible to override the automatically calculated Factor ‘f’ and Factor ‘g’ by manual override.
Hover above a value to read how the formulas work.
